This decolonial map of Basel was created as part of the course « Decolonizing Swiss Urban Landscape » at the University of Basel. The entire city was hand-drawn to highlight the subjective nature of Cartography, and each site was then integrated into three city tours focusing on colonial history, decolonial ecology, and racial justice. Hand-drawn icons mark each site on the map, with the verso containing short texts describing the place and its connection to colonialism. To facilitate city tours, longer versions of these texts were recorded and uploaded to SoundCloud.
